The scriptures say that if we keep the commandments then we will prosper. This is not a commandment to seek after riches, and it's not a reason to judge poor people.

Jesus tells us not to seek after riches many, many times. It was obviously something very important to him. Why do we avoid talking about this in church?

For god all things are spiritual, separating things into personal and business doesn't work for him and if you are treating people worse because it is an efficient business practice then that still doesn't meld with the gospel.
