Daniel Goleman published a book about Emotion Coaching, the premise is about how to produce emotionally intelligent children. The book is here.

While teaching if a child is having problems is easy to blame them and put unhelpful labels on them. Kids who have trouble are lagging in skills to help them to be successful. A teacher can help them learn these lagging skills but first they must be identified
